DIY: Citrus Garland

Why all the DIYs around the holidays? Really though, I didn’t understand it until I had kids. Then my nostalgia genes hit and I started to understand.
Citrus garlands for me are a gorgeous use of a seasonal gift. They smell amazing, and remind me of a scene in Little Women where Amy gets her orange taken away. It was such a treat once upon a time to find citrus on the East Coast.
This year we made an orange garland for the mantle and it was SO easy.
SUPPLIES:
3 Oranges
Twine
METHOD:
Slice oranges into 1/4” pieces or thinner. I got about 4-5 slices per orange, and for a 7’ mantle I needed 15 slices.
Dry your orange slices with a towel and place on parchment paper, placing into the oven at 250 degrees for 3 hours. Flip hourly.
Let dry and then string onto twine.
That’s it!
